As a bass booster, the low-shelf band at 60Hz is built to add low-end punch without needing to touch anything else.
Combine the master volume with the Limiter switch (on by default) to catch peaks if a heavy bass boost starts to push the signal too hot. If bass still sounds distorted at high boost levels, the recording itself may be clipping — pull the boost back a little.
Small laptop or phone speakers physically can't reproduce a strong 60Hz boost cleanly and may distort or buzz instead of sounding fuller. On larger speakers or headphones capable of real bass response, the same boost translates into genuine low-end weight.
