Classical tends to reward a specific EQ shape — here's a starting point built for it.
Try +1dB at 60Hz, 0dB at 500Hz, 0dB at 2.5kHz, and +1dB at 8kHz. Classical recordings are usually well-balanced already, so this preset makes only small, gentle adjustments rather than reshaping the sound.
Orchestral recordings are typically captured with much more care for natural tonal balance than commercial pop or electronic music, so aggressive EQ moves tend to work against the genre rather than for it — restraint is the point here.
